Note: BMP files are uncompressed, meaning the file size will be significantly larger than the original AVIF.
Ready to Download
Your 24-bit raw Bitmap is ready.
How to Convert AVIF to BMP
Select Your File
Click the upload box and select the .AVIF image you need to convert into a legacy bitmap format.
Instant Processing
Our tool reads the AVIF and uses a custom algorithm to reconstruct the image into an uncompressed 24-bit BMP.
Save Your BMP
Click download to save the .BMP file. It is now completely uncompressed and ready for legacy software or industrial printers.
Why Use Our AVIF to BMP Converter?
Total Privacy Guarantee
Unlike legacy converters that force you to upload your files to an external server, Toolszu processes the AVIF locally using your browser's memory. Your file never leaves your computer.
Fix Compatibility Issues
While AVIF is amazing for speed, older Windows operating systems, legacy medical/industrial software, and specific printers simply cannot open it. BMP is supported universally by everything built since the 1990s.
Custom Built BMP Encoder
Many modern web browsers have stopped supporting native BMP creation. We wrote a custom 24-bit encoder that manually builds the file pixel-by-pixel, guaranteeing it will convert properly on any device.
Uncompressed Output
Bitmap images apply zero compression. When we convert your image, every single pixel's exact color data is mapped out perfectly, making it ideal for tasks that require raw data.
Frequently Asked Questions
BMP stands for Bitmap. It is an image format developed by Microsoft in the early days of Windows. Because it does not use compression, BMP files are exceptionally large in file size, but perfectly preserve raw pixel color data.
This is completely normal. AVIF is designed to compress images down to a tiny fraction of their original size. When you convert an AVIF to a BMP, you are removing all of that compression, which causes the file size to multiply massively.
The standard 24-bit BMP file does NOT support transparency (alpha channels). If your AVIF file has a transparent background, our tool automatically fills it with a clean, solid white background before converting it into a BMP.
Yes! Toolszu is completely free to use. There are no limits, no required sign-ups, and we never add watermarks to your downloaded files.
