Why Convert Images to Inches?
Get Perfect Photo Prints
If you buy a 5x7 inch photo frame, you need your picture to match those dimensions perfectly. Our tool allows you to crop your photo so heads and important details don't get cut off when you print it.
Automatic DPI Mathematics
Converting physical inches into digital pixels is confusing. Our system automatically multiplies your requested inches by the DPI (Dots Per Inch) to generate the exact number of pixels the printer needs.
100% Private Editing
We respect your privacy. The cropping and mathematical resizing happen inside the memory of your own smartphone or computer browser. Your personal photos are never sent to external servers.
No Professional Software Needed
You don't need to know how to use complex photo editing software. Just type in the numbers, drag the box around your subject, and download your perfectly formatted file for free.
Common Questions
DPI stands for "Dots Per Inch". It tells the printer how densely to pack the ink. A setting of 300 DPI is the universal standard for high-quality, crisp photo prints. We strongly recommend leaving it at 300 if you plan to print the picture physically.
At standard print quality (300 DPI), a 4x6 inch photo is exactly 1200 x 1800 pixels. If you change the inputs in our tool above, you can watch the pixel calculator update automatically in real-time!
Our tool locks the "aspect ratio" of the crop box to match the inches you typed in. This is to guarantee that when the photo is printed on paper, the edges do not stretch, distort, or unexpectedly cut off your subject's head.
Absolutely. The input boxes support decimal values. If you need a highly specific custom frame size, such as 3.25 x 4.75 inches, simply type those exact numbers in, and the tool will calculate the perfect pixel dimensions.
