It works best on images with clear, printed text on a reasonably plain background — screenshots, banners, posters, memes, documents photographed as images. Very stylized, handwritten, or heavily textured text may not be detected by OCR, but you can still manually place new text on top.
The erase tool works by sampling the background color and filling the text area with it. On photos or gradient backgrounds this can leave a visible rectangular patch. It works best on solid-color backgrounds. For complex backgrounds, true AI inpainting would be needed.
You can upload PNG, JPG/JPEG, and WebP images up to 5 MB. For download, you can choose between PNG (lossless, best quality) or JPG (smaller file size). GIF is not supported as it uses indexed color which is not suitable for text editing.
OCR can detect the approximate font size and position but cannot identify the exact original font. You can manually select from common fonts (Arial, Times New Roman, Georgia, etc.) to match the original as closely as possible.
